Why Norm?

A lifelong Torontonian, Norm Wilner became NOW’s senior film writer in early 2008. He served as vice-president and secretary of the Toronto Film Critics Association from 2008 to 2016, sat on festival juries in Toronto, Montreal, London, Vienna and Palm Springs, and has been a member of the features jury for Canada’s Top Ten. These days, he hosts the NOW What and Someone Else’s Movie podcasts, and co-hosts TIFF’s Secret Movie Club.

Basically, it’s his mission to cover the increasingly crowded landscape of film and television, slogging through the bad stuff so he can point you towards the good stuff.
